PZH certificate - is it required and how to obtain it?
Manufacturers with certificates for their own products guarantee high-quality products. A positive evaluation confirmed by the PZH Certificate indicates that the product used as intended is completely safe.
What is the PZH Certificate?
The PZH Certificate, also known as the PZH Hygiene Certificate, is a document that confirms the product's compliance with safety standards. A new product is subjected to tests for its impact on health and the natural environment, and the certificate determines its quality based on many tests and studies.
The PZH Certificate is necessary for products that come into contact with drinking water.
Who issues the PZH Certificate?
The certificate is issued by an authorized institution, which in Poland is the Research Institute located in Warsaw, founded on November 21, 1918, currently known as the National Institute of Public Health - National Institute of Hygiene (PZH).

Is the certificate mandatory?
Does every product necessarily have to be equipped with a PZH hygienic certificate? Since 2016, the obligation to possess a certificate has been narrowed down. Mandatory hygiene assessment is carried out for products that come into contact with water suitable for consumption, as defined in Article 12.2 of the Water Supply and Sewage Disposal Act. For other products, the certificate is issued voluntarily based on an application submitted by the manufacturer to the National Institute of Public Health - National Institute of Hygiene.
