Hand washing instructions - education, trade, factories and institutions

03-02-2020
Handwashing Safety InstructionsIt may seem that handwashing is an obvious and simple matter. However, statistics are alarming enough that hand hygiene has its own Global Handwashing Day, which we celebrate on October 15.

To meet the needs of our customers, we have prepared two types of correct handwashing schemes in several versions. The first is the handwashing instruction with soap, and the second is the hand disinfection instruction with an alcohol-based preparation. You can print and hang the safety instructions in your workplace. We recommend the 0.5l Hand Sanitizer

We strongly encourage you to print the instructions below and hang them in bathrooms and restrooms in schools, offices, shopping centers, health centers, restaurants, production halls, and treatment, cosmetic, and medical offices, and other places where cleanliness is of great importance. The instructions can be downloaded for free in a convenient format: PDF document or JPEG image.

Who Doesn't Wash Hands

On average, only 30% of men and about 63% of women wash their hands after using the toilet. Meanwhile, up to 5 million bacteria can be found per cm2 on human hands. WHO reports indicate that almost 70% of infections and food poisonings result from not washing hands.

Inadequate or no handwashing after using the toilet, before eating, or after returning home can lead to temporary stomach problems at best, and at worst, can have very serious consequences. Each year, 3.5 million children under the age of 5 die due to complications resulting from not washing hands. This issue is especially important in public restrooms, where we do not always know how thoroughly hygiene is maintained, as well as in large gatherings, such as schools, workplaces, and health centers. Sometimes shortcomings are immediately noticeable and should prompt us to maintain personal hygiene. The situation slightly improves with the threat of the flu.

Handwashing AreasClean Hands

Helpful are the instructions hung by the sinks and messages that more or less strongly encourage using water and soap, such as “Handwashing doesn't hurt,” “Water won't kill germs, soap will,” and “Wash your hands or eat this.” Statistics also improve with the presence of so-called “toilet attendants,” in whose presence we are more embarrassed and more likely to go to the sink.

It is also worth mentioning that over the years, the level of hygiene in public restrooms has significantly improved, where it has become standard to install liquid soap dispensers and hand dryers or paper towel dispensers, and bar soap has been replaced by much more hygienic foam soap and liquid soap. In healthcare, production plants, and other places where hands must be disinfected, it is required to install elbow dispensers or automatic dispensers that dispense alcohol-based preparations for hygienic hand disinfection.

If we want our hands to be truly free from dirt, viruses, and bacteria, we should wash them according to the health and safety instructions. It resembles a surgical handwashing scheme. The result? Wash your hands according to the instructions, and you will feel the freshness and cleanliness on your own skin.
