Hand sanitizers

Hand disinfectants, which most commonly come as liquids, foams, or gels, are used to eliminate pathogenic microorganisms such as viruses, bacteria, or fungi. The effectiveness of these products is highest when they contain 60 to 80 percent alcohol. Hand disinfection is recommended for everyone, especially after contact with other people or touching surfaces in public places. Although hand disinfectant liquids do not replace washing hands with water and soap, they perform their function, especially when there is no possibility to wash hands. When choosing a hand disinfectant product, attention should be paid to the composition (especially alcohol concentration), consistency, and scent.
